August 2018

August has been a great month with so many sweet memories. 

The weather is a mix of very hot days and rainy days so the variety is nice. 

The kids and I love our weekly special movie nights. We started the month off with Beauty & the Beast and brownies & ice cream. 

Our friend from church got married. Unfortunately Madelyn was sick so Luke stayed home with her and Ezra was my wedding date.

These two have had many lego play sessions over the year. 

Down the street from our house is a small park, about 1 block, by 1/2 a block. It has a walking path around it, a tall spiral slide and two swings. My favorite thing about the park is that it is filled with beautiful flowers, so we call it our "flower park." 

 Our friends Jenn and Lilly joined us for Milkshake Monday one week. 

On August 15th, (India's Independence Day), all the kids were out of school so our church had a family day function. We loved spending the day with our friends. 

I'm really blessed with other Christian ladies to do life with here. 

One week our friends came in from Punjab. They stayed at our house a couple days and we introduced them to Mario Kart. 

They have the sweetest baby named Raul. He is always happy! 

We took our friends to the Rock Garden in town which is a really cool park made of rocks and waterfalls. It was a fun but hot day. 

Our favorite part of the park is a long wall full of arches that each have a swing in them. Its definitely the coolest swing we've ever seen. 

Ezra participated in his first golf tournament! It was only kids from town and there were probably 100 participants. They place their tee box in the middle of the green and play for 9 holes. 

We told Ezra not to worry about winning but try his best and stay positive (aka no whining.. haha). He really did amazing. He made some good shots and handled himself really well. 

We were super proud of him. He loved playing golf with other kids and is already asking to play in another tournament soon. 

Our church meets in a school so after church the kids are able to play on the playground while the parents drink chai and fellowship. This is truly such a sweet group of kids and I'm so thankful for the friendship opportunities our kids have here. 

Across town in the little city next to ours, there is a mall and Taco Bell opened a new restaurant there. We received text messages on our phone about the Grand Opening and decided to drive over and show our support. It's the 3rd Taco Bell Grand Opening we've attended.

The kid's school has a phone app on which the teachers upload pictures of the kids activities. This is an adorable picture of Madelyn on Sports Day at her school. They had different sports activities that they participated in. Both Madelyn and Ezra came in 1st place overall. I guess they're athletic. :) 

The end of August starts the NFL preseason and Madelyn and I were ready in our Cowboys blue. I'm not super into football but I love anything affiliated with fall. My parents record the games on their tv and then we use a device called a Slingbox to watch it later the next morning when we wake up.
