Dubai Trip March 2018

For our Spring visa run we went to Dubai for the first time and LOVED IT!!

I remember when traveling with the kids was so hard and tiring but now it is easy-peasy and so much fun! These are seriously the best days!

This is how we travel through the airport. No carry-on needed, just a backpack and kids in their stroller. Madelyn sits/sleeps perfectly content in her carseat on the plane and we gate-check the stroller. Ezra's shirt had a cape on it so he felt like a superhero.

We flew out of Chandigarh for a straight 3 hour flight to Dubai.. amazing. The airport is really small which makes for easy flying but very few eating options. We made due with some chicken nuggets at the one restaurant. We're pretty easy to please.

First day in Dubai.. first stop.. the beach!

The beaches here are BEAUTIFUL!!

Luke bought a new sandcastle set for the kids so they were busy creating.

I love this precious photo of Luke carrying the kids in the water. There were tiny fish by their feet swimming around.. very cool.

We went to Kite Beach which had playgrounds, food trucks and such a fun atmosphere. Ezra insisted on having his picture taken with this giant M&M man.

We stayed at a really cool hotel apartment. It was great to have a separate place for Luke and I to hang while the kids took their afternoon naps and then they slept comfortably on the giant sectional couch at night.

We had a nice spacious room and a bathtub in the bathroom. Our kids love to take baths at night.. when you're only 3 feet tall, a bath tub is basically a swimming pool.

This was the view outside our room. Dubai is amazingly clean and beautiful. There were flowers planted all over the city.

We went to the Dubai Mall and there is an amazing waterfall wall with sculptures of people falling down it.

There is also a giant aquarium wall with fish, sharks and beautiful coral. Talk about a cool mall!

This is the tallest building in the world. It's called the Burj Khalifa.

Outside the mall there were giant see-saws that lit up and made music. Ezra played on them while we waited for the fountain show to start.

This is the fountain show outside of the Dubai Mall. It dances to music and is beautiful.

Ezra really loved this tiny pony!

Check out this beautiful park.
We let the kids play to their hearts content while Luke and I played badminton in the shade.

For Luke's birthday he could go anywhere or do anything and this sweet man decided to go to a waterpark because the kids would really enjoy it.

This waterpark was perfectly sized for our kids and we had a really fun time! This was the slide portion, there was also a splash pad area and a bounce house.

That night he and Ezra went ice-skating. Ezra used this penguin to skate with and absolutely loved it.

While the boys skated, Madelyn and I window shopped, had ice-cream and then topped it off with Starbucks. Hers is a small cup of whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

This girl has a heart for adventure!

I absolutely loved Dubai! We found a lot of great deals on Groupon so we did all kinds of fun things. Some I didn't get pictures of like the trampoline park and indoor playground etc. It was a great visa run full of fun and we will definitely be going back!
Until then, I'll be sipping coffee out of my new Dubai cup. :)

Early 2018 Memories

There is no better way to start off the year than with packages from friends back home. This was a birthday package for Ezra with goodies for the whole family from my best friend Kristin.. even through the distance our sweet friendship is going on 14 years. :)

We got a hammock for the backyard and I am in love! The kids are too. I love this precious photo of them.

I was trying to get a picture of the kids in the backyard and Sadie insisted on sitting with them for it. She even kind of smiled. haha. This is now framed in our living room of course.

Madelyn and her sweet friend cuddling in the recliner and watching cartoons.

In February we went back to Delhi for the wedding of a dear friend. It was such a great weekend and she made a beautiful bride.

Now that the weather is beautiful we have been golfing a lot! There is a very simple course outside of town that we take the kids to and Ezra plays with us. Madelyn will hit the ball occasionally but it doesn't come as naturally to her so she prefers to cheer us on.

Some dear friends of ours left town and while we are sad to see them go, Ezra inherited their lego collection and the kids are super excited.

These sweet kiddos loved their Valentine morning surprises.. what kid doesn't love a bunch of candy in the morning.

For Valentine's evening we went to a friend's house for dinner and had chocolate fondue. Can you say YUM!?

The weather is heating up quickly so we pulled the water table back out. This thing provides hours of entertainment..

One of our favorite Spring holidays is Holi.. a giant nation wide water fight. The kids had new water guns and played with all the kids from the neighborhood.. so fun!

Ezra competed in his first golf competition. He didn't win but he did really great!

The kids went on break mid-March so we went to Nik Baker's for some special cake to celebrate. They have 3 weeks to relax then they both start a new school year the first week of April.

We went to a small amusement park outside of town and the kids loved it. It had a lot of rides for their age range and no lines.

With the break we have been enjoying lots of play dates with our friends who are also on school break. This is Ezra with his sweet friend being ninjas on a rock.

We also went to the Japanese Garden another day and enjoyed this awesome dragon shaped slide.

It has been a really sweet start to the year!
