Disney & Orlando Studios Trip

By the time we arrived to Orlando the kids were so excited and ready to see Disney and Orlando Studios.

Just the drive up to Walt Disney World is magical.

Our first day we went to Hollywood Studios because we were most excited for Toy Story Land and the Star Wars area. Both were awesome!

The capacity at the park was lower because of COVID so we were able to ride all the rides and many of them twice. It was awesome!

Ezra has always loved Buzz Lightyear

This girl was so brave on all the rides. She was a half an inch tall enough to ride the big rides with us and did amazing! Her favorite was the Slinky rollercoaster.

After thoroughly enjoying Toy Story Land we went over to the Star Wars area.

We met a storm trooper.

Ezra's favorite ride was the interactive one where you drive a ship. It was awesome!

The scenes were put together with such detail.

We found Doc Mcstuffins house.

We also joined in on a dance party.

Finally, we got to see all our favorite characters in a parade. There were no close meet and greets with characters to keep from passing germs. The kids were happy to wave from a far though.

Day 2.. the Magic Kingdom.

This castle is truly breathtaking up close.

Kissing my Prince Charming in front of the castle.

The kids loved the dumbo ride.

Madelyn's favorite ride was the carousel.

We rode almost all the rides and loved them all. Only a couple of lines were longer but mostly we were able to ride things quickly and keep moving. What an experience!

We broke up our amusement park hopping with a day at the water park. We have been to several water parks but Universal's Volcano Bay was seriously the best park we have ever been to!

They had amazing rides and an incredible kids area. Best of all, they had a system with wrist bands so we never had to wait in lines. It was honestly mine and the kid's favorite park of the week.

The next few days we spent at the different Universal parks. We enjoyed the Dr. Seuss area a lot.

Ezra really loved the Jurassic area.

But the real reason we went to Universal was for the Harry Potter world.

Walking through Hogwarts was such an amazing experience.

We bought the kids some interactive wands that played with the different window fronts.

We loved the shops that included all the different treats and details from the movies.

Diagon Alley was incredible!!

The Gringotts Bank had a huge dragon that breathed out real fire randomly.

We found Hagrid's bike.

Hagrid's ride was seriously the best roller coaster we have ever been on.

It was so fun to go inside Gringotts Bank.

What a treat to see the Weasley Brother's store too! t

The kids each got a stuffed animal and the stores were giving out halloween candy because it was the end of October.

After a week of fun we were ready to hit the road again and make our way back to Texas!
This was our first long road trip in America as a family and it will certainly not be our last.

Family Roadtrip 2020

In October, after we had spent some quality time with each of our families, we planned an epic 3 week long road trip in which we met with many friends and partners. We drove from Texas to Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and back to Texas. The day before we left we let the kids know that we were going to spend 6 days at Disney World and Orlando Studios while we were in Florida. We had to explain what these places were .. but figured these are important places and memories for them to have as American kids. After they saw some videos of where we were going they were very excited.

Excited for our adventures!
The kids travel incredibly well, which we are very thankful for.

We stopped in Little Rock, Arkansas and saw a few sights. We also had dinner at an Indian restaurant and to date it is the best that we have had in America so far!

Next we stopped in Nashville for a few days of meetings and fellowship.

Madelyn and I got away for some girl time which she always loves!

We tried out different parks in Nashville and one near downtown was our favorite.

Of course we found an Indian restaurant near our hotel.

After a few great days we were on the road again.

Driving through Tennessee was beautiful!

Our next stop was in South Carolina to visit friends that used to live down the street from us in India. It was great to see where they had settled in America.

Our kids loved being together again too.

On the road again... but oh so happy with all her animals.

Next we went to a lake house in North Carolina with another couple who used to live with us in Chandigarh and are dear friends.

We spent a few days together making stores, fishing, kayaking and catching up.

Ezra LOVED the kayaking and was big enough to go out by himself.

Next we headed down to Savannah, Georgia for the night. We walked around down town and enjoyed its beauty.

We also found an incredible breakfast spot by the river.

After that we went to Florida to spend a few days with our good friends who also live in India with us.
They live near the beach so some sand and sun was mandatory.

Our kids loved playing together.

It was such a sweet gift to see our friends, especially in their hometown. After a few great days together we packed back up and headed to Orlando for our week at Disney!
