The whole month of April we were in total lockdown in our house. The kids couldn't step outside and we could only leave for grocery runs to the local store.
We found a lot of new ways to entertain ourselves in the house and creative ways to continue our work via Zoom meetings.
The kids new school year started the first week of April with online Zoom classes.
It was a learning curve for the teachers and the students but it has been a good means of continuing the kids school progress.
Ezra had an art class assignment to paint a famous picture so we all three painted Starry Night together.

We started our Easter holidays with the resurrections eggs, doing one each day and made some Easter inspired Oreo balls.

They had a great time hunting for eggs and were happy with all the candy.

The kids asked for fun pacakes in the shape of a unicorn and a hamster in a ball! They turned out really great actually!
Ezra found a ladybug in the house and was so love.
He made the lady bug a beautiful home and was so sad when we lost her.
Madelyn made a house for her tiger animal.
I've had to learn how to make tortillas, roti and poori all by myself since I can't buy them from the market or a restaurant like usual.
I'm really proud any time a roti puffs up perfectly (meaning it was made well).

I missed going for runs and out in parks but God gave us beautiful views and bits of nature around our house.
Madelyn turned 5 at the end of April.
We usually have big parties for our kids birthdays so it took a bit of creativity to make it a special day for her.
She requested a unicorn cake.

We had a scavenger hunt with pictures cut into puzzles for Madelyn to find her presents around the house.
There were no toy stores open nor did Amazon deliver at this time so we made use of the few things available in the market and a couple of items in our present closet to get 5 little gifts for Madelyn to open.

For Madelyn's birthday celebration we brought the pool out for our first swim of the summer.
Of course ice cream sundaes were a must.
We even had a tea party with her animals.

Most every morning I would start the day on the roof to enjoy the sunset and get fueled for the day.
It was definitely a different month than anticipated but it was filled with a lot of sweet memories and some good relationship building with our connections here.
