We had a good August with a lot of sweet memories. 

The flower park by our house is still one of our favorite places. 

Madelyn has a few incredibly sweet friends at our church. Its a big blessing!

One weekend we had a "camp out" where the kids got to sleep in the tent in our room and we made s'mores on the grill.

Sometimes when I'm out and see cute animals I just have to pet them.. especially if they are baby cows. 

August 15th is India's Independence Day. We made orange and green pancakes and India flag crafts.  We also made India flag cookies and cards to give to our neighbors and friends. 

Ezra lost his first tooth. He found 50 rupees (the equivalent of 80 cents) under his pillow and bought several different candies from the market next door for he and Madelyn to share. 

We had a sweet play date with a friend from Madelyn's class. 

Pumpkins are all over the market so we bought some to paint for fun.

The kids had a school holiday one day and a few moms and I planned to get together for a park play date and lunch.

One of the fun holidays we wrote on Ezra's calendar was "National Waffle Day".. to celebrate we had Texas shaped waffles with a ton of fun toppings. 

Ezra's teacher sent home a binder for Ezra to decorate. 

We came up with this awesome idea together.. it was so fun! 

Ezra has computer class everyday at school and recently they have been learning Google Earth. One night he wanted to show Madelyn all the cool things he had learned. 

Still finding some free moments to go swim. 

Sometimes I think she only volunteers to help me cook so she can taste test as we go. 

Luke and I ordered these fun matching shirts off of an Indian website because we're super cool. 

July 2019

We kicked off our July with some Independence Day celebrating. There aren't many other Americans in town now a days but we had fun together as a family.

And of course.. the night ended with some sparklers. 

One day Luke was taking a back road to the kid's school and saw a sign for a foot spa. One of our favorite things about Thailand is the wonderful and inexpensive foot massages. 

We tried it out for our next date morning and it was awesome! 

There are recliners, massage style music and it ends with coffee made to order. All that and a 45 minute foot massage for $8!! 

This is definitely a new favorite date spot for us. 

Since the kids are still on break, they have been able to come with me to visit some friends in town. 

I love our front garden.. flowers, coffee and sunshine are a few of my favorite things. 

I've been trying to get back into jogging and Ezra has shown interest in joining me every once and while.

I've had to go all the way to Delhi (a 4 hour train ride) to get sufficient dental care and I finally made the trip there and back by myself one day. I took advantage of the quiet trip to read some more of my Hindi Harry Potter book and enjoyed a peaceful Starbucks treat before riding back home. 

The monsoon rains are starting to come.. 

The kids go back to school in July. Madelyn actually shifted up to the next class to align herself with the right grade for her age according to the American schedule. Its harder work and bigger kids but she's handled the transition extremely well. 

Some friends of ours came into town and we went to the mall to spend time together. Sweet memories. 

Ezra has been working on reading 100 books this year and he finished it! We went to the mall for laser tag and cake to celebrate. 

Monsoon rains can sometimes mean a bit of flooding.. this was crazy for me to drive through but my car handled it well. 

Sadie puts up with a lot of intense loving from these kids. 

These are some of our dearest friends. They go to our church, live in our neighborhood and their kids are basically the same age as ours. 

Ezra used his kid chopsticks to eat some Chinese food we ordered in and was super proud. 

We went to Ezra's friend Vaanya's birthday party and it was so fun!

Most days after school we snuggle on the couch, share a snack and watch Daniel Tiger. 

I am soaking in these sweet moments with her. 

We had a fireman friend from the States in town and he wanted to exchange patches with our local station. We all went to the station and the kids got to meet the firemen and see the trucks. 

It was a cool experience. 

Movie watching is always better in a fort.

Playing in the monsoon rains 

Ezra asked how long until Christmas comes and was very sad that it was still many months away. So, I put together a "Christmas in July" day. We watched Christmas movies, made Christmas cookies, had red and green spaghetti, and made a schedule of fun holidays to celebrate each week until Christmas finally comes. 

There is a casual golf course in town that allows us to bring the kids with us and has golf carts for rent. We all 4 went to play and it was so fun!

(Ezra was out traveling with Luke and didn't want to see the movie because he said it was too scary)

It was a lot of work to make but turned out very fun looking.
