In September our schedule got really busy, so a long family weekend up to Shimla seemed like a great idea.
Our city is in the foothills of the Himalayas so after about 30 minutes of driving north we hit evergreen covered cliffs. It was beautiful.
We stayed in this really adorable resort on a mountain peak just past Shimla.
The rooms reminded me a lot of ski resort cabins.
The view was simply breath-taking. We were a bit outside of the city so it was just mountains and skies in sight.
This is Shimla. It is such a crazy lifestyle to actually live on the side of a mountain. The streets are narrow and they wind back and forth.
The weather was so wonderful!! It was a nice change from the sweaty summer.
There was a little playground in the resort that the kids really enjoyed playing on.
You can't have a family vacation without a family photo.. :) In the midst of super busy season it was so nice to get away and refresh. I'm really glad we have such a beautiful place just a 4 hours drive away.
