Fall 2016

We have had a very festive and fun fall season! 

It started off with a package from my MIL that was filled with fall clothing, desserts and coffee creamer. 

The kids love wearing their pumpkin outfits. Ezra gets a kick out of matching Madelyn. It won't be like that forever so I match them often. 

We started a new tradition of watching movies in the backyard. We blew up a little plastic pool and fill it with blankets and pillows so the kids run around the backyard, half way playing and half way watching the movie. They love it so we probably watch a movie outside 2-3 times a week. 

The big sports store in town shut down which is sad but we were able to buy a 12' trampoline for 10% of the price! We play on it almost every day and the kids love it! It is on our roof. 

I've never been a sports watcher but I've started watching football online this year.. especially the Cowboys.. who are doing AWESOME! We are traveling back to America in December so I figured it would be fun to actually understand what people were talking about when the playoffs came around. :) 

Ezra used to aways sit on the counter and watch me cook when he was little. Now he's my little helper and Madelyn likes to watch. :) 

Ezra's school put on a song and dance performance one day. Ezra did so good! He was in the back row because he was 50/50 in participation during the practices.. I totally understand! But the day of he really showed off. It was precious! 

We kicked off October with some fall fun. We went to the market to pick out our pumpkins and Ezra helped me choose what face we wanted to cut into them. We carved pumpkins and enjoyed pecan pie. Ezra has totally caught my festive spirit! It's really fun to share the joy of all the little festive things we do with him.

Diwali is a holiday in India that celebrates the victory of good over evil. There is a lot of Hindu related background but we use it as a time to meet with neighbors and have good conversation about the Good we know that has defeated evil. 

We had a blast this year! It was a lot calmer than the Diwali in Delhi so we were able to go to a few neighbors houses, play with sparklers and enjoy firework shows done by neighbors. Definitely my best Diwali experience so far! 

Its customary to give little treats for Diwali so Ezra had some for his bus driver, teacher, didi etc. He was very excited to pass them out. 

This is what Ezra's lunch looks like every day! He gets a cookie cutter cut peanut butter jelly sandwich on a bed of raisins, nuts and chocolate chips.. every day.. and is totally content... haha! I'm so thankful because that keeps my life easy! 

We had two good friends have babies in Delhi and another close friend move just outside of Delhi in October so we took a trip down one weekend and got to visit some of our favorite people all at once. It was a super sweet trip! 

This is just a funny picture of Madelyn sharing her ice-cream cone with her stuffed animal "Lucy". She has become very attached to this fox. Ezra has a sheep by the same company and is very attached to his as well. 

When we moved to Chandigarh in April a sign popped up the same week that Taco Bell was coming!! Then we waited.. and waited!! And finally, 6 months later, it opened! 

I love Taco Bell and am a very happy camper! 

We even went on their opening day so now our pictures are hanging on the wall! haha

We are true fans! 

For Halloween this year both kids dressed up as their favorite paw patrol characters. I made jack-o-lantern inspired quesadillas with "worms in dirt" desert. Then we watched Halloween cartoons in the backyard. 

I have wanted to string twinkle lights in the back yard for months and we finally did it. It has made the backyard almost magical in the evenings. 

We have had such a fun few months. The longer I live in India the more I learn and get creative on how to make things festive and the older the kids get, so life is just getting easier and more fun the longer we live here!
