In June we headed back home to India after a few great months of STAS. We visited family and friends, connected with partners and were able to get Luke's knee fixed through steroid shots and physical therapy... all really big praises!
The kids are amazing travelers and it literally just keeps getting easier. We usually arrive into Delhi around midnight and head out to Chandigarh by taxi with our bags. We stop in the middle for a potty break and so our driver can get some chai to stay awake.. very important! Only in India can you get a 2 am samosa and ice cream at a rode side dhaba. haha!
Our first few days back in India we usually eat out a lot so that we aren't in the house falling asleep around 6pm. This is our favorite Western food restaurant in town.. Casa Bella Vista. It is veg but that have amazing pasta and pizza made in a really pizza oven. We always sit at a picnic table next to the man who makes the pizzas and the kids (awkwardly) stare at him as he makes his masterpieces.
We have all loved getting in some puppy loving with Snuggles. He is much bigger than when we left but he also is much more potty trained. :)
Soon after we arrived I ordered a new stove that I had been eyeing before we left. I had to order it asap because once I start visiting people who have way less than we do I convince myself that it is not necessary and won't buy it. But it is beautiful and I love it! It makes the whole kitchen look nicer and matches the hood we got a Christmas.
Our first weekend back there was a kid's golf tournament. Even though Madelyn didn't play in America, she usually plays in India, maybe because she knows what to expect from the Indian ones and usually plays with kids she knows.
There was a new restaurant in the mall that is all pink called "Pink Wasabi." We saw it and Madelyn asked to go on a girl's date there. We ordered pink chicken Hakka noodles and it was great!
Thankfully our year pass to the waterpark near by is still good so we squeezed in as much water time as possible.
Since the kids are on holiday from school they have been coming along for any meetings I have. They are so great at talking with the families, drawing pictures and being patient even if they're bored.

We had a couple of our friends over together for the first time since Covid. It was such a delight to let our kids play together again and to catch up.
Snuggles was very attached to me when he was tiny, but since we came back he has realized that Madelyn is the puppy lover and follows her around all day. I'm so thankful because it makes her SO excited!
Ezra learned how to play the adult version of Catan, which gives one more game we can play together that is actually strategic and fun. (I'm thankful to be done with Candyland and Go Fish.)
I caught this moment and it is precious. These kids are blossoming as great little partners with me.
Before we came back we talked to the kids about adding an activity along side Hindi class and golf so that they would feel like they had a choice in their activities too. They said that they would like to play soccer. Their school had just started a soccer team and had spots available for them.
It takes place on a mini field above a gym about 15 minutes from our house. Most of the other teammates are from their school to which is awesome!

It was sweet to see their excitement because they had never been before.
Taking people out to experience new fun things is one of my favorite things!
Ezra had to do a research project over summer break He did a presentation on the changes in Coca-Cola advertisement over the years. They are studying the different elements of commerce in his class this year.

Ezra's BFF Swarit is on the kid's team as well. They've been in class together since Kindergarten and have the sweetest friendship.
The kids had a "friendly match" against another soccer academy that was actually run by their coaches little brother.
We had some friends over for July 4th to celebrate with decorations, a full BBQ and dessert.
The kids also have real uniforms for their team. Ezra is beyond excited to be playing a team sport with a jersey and a number.
