We started November with a family trip to our favorite Air BnB in the mountains a few hours from our house. It was Diwali week so the kids were on break.
The kids bundled up for the ride and we loaded the car with games, luggage and our dog Sadie.
The view is always so beautiful.
There is a caretaker that lives next to the house and when we arrive we tell them what we would like to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner while we are staying there. It is amazing!! It is all Indian food but really delicious.
There are goats and chickens up the mountain a little ways and Madelyn loves to go visit them in the afternoon.
We went for a drive to a local carnival area and the kids had a lot of fun!

Sparklers on Diwali
When we got back to our house we discovered that caterpillars had found a milkweed plant we had behind the house and had already made cocoons. They were monarch butterflies and it was amazing for the kids to witness. When I was in 3rd grade my teacher brought milkweed and caterpillars to our class and we watched them form cocoons and break free. What a gift to show my kids the same thing!
The kids school opened up for full time in person school after Diwali break!
They were so so excited to be with their teachers and friends every day.
Our golf caddie, Mongal, got married an we were able to go celebrate with him.
Madelyn loves to steal away for girl dates.. especially to the Chocolate Room for fondue.
We are really fortunate to have a few school friends live near by and love to have them come over for Saturday playdates.
We traveled to Delhi at the end of November to celebrate Thanksgiving with some other American families. The kids love train rides.

We don't ride autos often anymore but usually take them home from the train station. Madelyn especially was excited. She loves autohides.
