December was a very busy and festive month!
We have a lot of Christmas traditions but one of my favorites is putting together a ginger bread house with the kids.
We also love Christmas gift shopping!
Our favorite night time treat has been mug cakes. You just put a few ingredients into a coffee mug, microwave it for 2 minutes and then voila.. a personal sized cake!
In the middle of a busy season I really appreciated a weekend golf tournament which meant 3 hours of slow walking through a beautiful course with the kids.
I snapped this pic of an average morning for me and it was just such a beautiful sight.
On the 18th Ezra turned 9 years old!!
Our traditional family picture with the cake.
Ezra wanted a party at the arcade/bowling alley with his friends.
We invited several friends from school and a couple family friends.
They were such a sweet group and it was a ton of fun to see them play together!
We had talked to the kids about getting bunnies or guinea pigs so that they could have a small furry animal to hold since Sadie doesn't enjoy letting them pet her. After some thinking, Luke and I decided to surprise the kids with their dream pet... a shih-tzu. They had no idea!! We brought it home the week of Christmas and placed him in a wrapped box under the tree when they were getting off the bus.
They were so so so shocked and excited. It's the kind of moment you dream of as a parent.
We let the kids name him and they chose "Snuggles".
Christmas cookie decorating
Sadie has adjusted to having a second dog like a champ!
We had a big Christmas meal on Christmas Eve with another American on our team. We always order in rotisserie chicken and KFC then prep all the traditional sides.
On Christmas Day we went to a couple of different functions.
It was a busy day but full of fun, food and fellowship!
We had a lot of fun this month but Snuggles was definitely our favorite thing!
