August Retreat

We started August with a family retreat to analyze these last couple of months, pray about the months coming and spend some sweet time together.

The kids are such excellent travelers.

We live about 30 minutes from the beginning of the Himalayan mountain range. We tried Air BnB for the first time to find a secluded house with an onsite cook and a beautiful view. It turned out amazing!

Our biggest aim for the week was to play a lot of games together.

There were endless games of Skip-bo and Monopoly Deal.

I also brought 2 new make it yourself toys for the kids to build then play which made for fun afternoons for them.

The front of the house had an open view of the mountains ahead. It was so beautiful. We also saw many monkeys and even had to chase several away over the week.

I loved having bible reading and prayer times throughout the day with this view.

Every morning we would go on a family walk to explore different roads and trails.

The kids loved the sense of adventure and nature.

We brought our dog Sadie with us and it made the trip even more fun!

There was a badminton net next to the house and we were able to play with some neighborhood families and the caretakers of the house.

A couple of nights we lit a fire and made s'mores. We even made them for the caretakers. They approved.

We brought all the games that we love to play.

More afternoon board games.

Sadie could get use to mountain life.

The sunsets and sunrises were so incredible!
