June 2021

June was a great month of family memories and work with partners.

Sadie was born June 1st so we always celebrate her birthday with pup cakes for her and a bone shaped brownie cake for us. We even light a candle and sing to her! She and the kids love it!!

Our kids have Hindi class on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1-4 which gives me the opportunity to get out for work in those time slots. Fridays is their favorite because their Hindi teacher brings her son who is their friend and they have a long Hindi playdate.

June 4th we celebrated our 10th anniversary.
We originally thought we would be in the States so we were hoping to go to NYC to celebrate. Then we thought we would be in India with a friend staying with us and we could travel up to the mountains for a get away but our friend left early and we weren't allowed to cross state lines. So for plan C we had out Hindi teacher come for the day and Luke and I got on the bike and road out to do work together for the day. It was a great day of celebrating the partnership and friendship that God has blessed us with.
When we got home that night we ordered dinner in and set the kids up with a movie in their room. Then we had a nice dinner alone. :)

There is a small frozen yogurt shop in town that has been a favorite of ours on these hot summer days.

We really enjoy projecting movies in our room.. it makes a normal movie extra fun.

During the holidays, Madelyn has been able to come out for work with me more and it has been such a blessing to be able to bring her along. She loves meeting with people and being a part of what we do here.

We deeply appreciate the park down the street. It is always very clean, full of flowers and has some play equipment for the kids to enjoy.

Ezra has been taking an online engineering class this summer. He has learned so much and loved making different projects.  This is Luke and he making a hideaway box that he drilled to the underside of  his school desk to store candy as school day pick-me-ups.

His favorite topic has been electrical engineering and coding with his Arduino board.

The  rice fields are filled with water. I love seeing how the fields grow and change season by season.

We brought Skip-bo along with us on a long work day. The kids taught our partner's daughter how to play.

We are very thankful that our favorite indoor play area in town is finally open again. The kids love these playgrounds and they are such a blessing for me to be able to sit in the AC, rest, read or drink coffee while they play.

There is a great Italian restraurant in town that just renovated their indoor seating and it turned out so beautiful. I really appreciate pretty places with good food.
