December 2020

December is such a fun month.. especially when we get to celebrate with family. This year we took full advantage of being in the States and chopped down our own Christmas tree for the first time. We could barely fit it in our precious little M house but it was very fun!

It’s a sweet season of both kids being “big” and able to do fun things together.

We had 3 trees in our house. The one we cut down, one that was available with the M house and one that we borrowed from my Mother-in-law. There was a lot of festivity.

We lived in the middle of downtown and got to drive through the lights and excitement every day. It was great.

We loved being in America but also missed a lot about India.. especially the food so we got supplies from the Asian grocery store down the street and made Indian food at home.

They also sold fresh samosas which is Ezra’s favorite snack.

Top golf is definitely a family favorite.

We had donuts one morning and Madelyn asked if we could add sprinkles and marshmallows. She definitely shares my joy of making things extra special.

One evening we went to dinner downtown and met a couple dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Clause. It was quite a sight!

While in Austin we celebrated Ezra's 8th birthday early with the whole Cavo family.

We golfed, did arcades, played cards and ate cake of course.

Soon after we went to my parent's house and were able to celebrate with them as well.

On Ezra’s actual birthday we went away to the Great Wolf Lodge for some awesome waterpark fun.

For his birthday dinner, Ezra requested some good Indian food and we were happy to oblige!

That night we went back to my parent's for more cake. This kid had lots of celebrating!

The kids opened Christmas presents early and were most excited about new electric scooters.

S’mores time.
A favorite family tradition of mine growing up was going to see the Christmas lights at a great Land of Lights near my hometown and then get Braum's icecream afterward. I love being able to share those memories with my kids too.

Sweet memories snuggling with Grandma.

Madelyn found an old Sonic uniform and enjoyed playing waitress.

Ezra’s favorite part of the lake is the go-karts place for sure!

After some sweet memories with my parents we went back to our M house to celebrate Christmas with the Cavos.

We made Christmas cookies and I think they turned out unique and beautiful.

The excitement of presents wrapped under a tree when you're a kid is so special.

We opened a few presents at our M house then headed to the Cavo house for our family Christmas.

Such a sweet day!

We had such a great Christmas 2020.

One of my favorite presents we gave was a early readers Bible to Madelyn. She was up early the next day ready to read with me. It was precious.
