At the beginning in June, lockdown began to life with "unlock 1.0". We were still safe about how much we left the house but we were able to travel into Punjab and begin visiting with partners for the first time since March. It was great to meet them and talk about how to move forward.
It was wonderful to meet with these ladies.
We had missed the sight of open fields.
Our kids were so happy to play with friends.
We were also able to talk to a golf course outside of town about letting our children come golfing with us. They even let us use the manager's golf cart. Most everyone walks the course in India but that would be hard on the kids.
The course is cut into the hills. We went out golfing as a family every week. It was such a refreshing outing to be in nature and having fun together.
The kids continued with their zoom classes each day.
After morning classes we usually always swam in the pool which was great exercise and a break from the summer heat.
We played ALOT of games. I had individual play time with each kid in the afternoons which was such a sweet part of this season.
I was even able to go back to the lake to exercise but people are required to wear masks over the nose even when running so I didn't go much. When I ran in my neighborhood I could push my mask down without people noticing.
I also started taking weekly golf lessons at the local driving range because it was one of the few places that was open for business. I took lessons with the kids coach and saw a lot of progress.
We usually always buy special cake slices from Nik Baker's in town to mark special occasions such as the start of school. The Nik Baker's in town opened back up so that was a special enough occasion to buy some special cake slices.
We were so very thankful for this community center behind our house which allowed our kids to play outside with very little attention. Kids 10 and under were not supposed to leave the house but our neighbors were very understanding and allowed us to have them play freely.
While stuck in the house we tried to find any new and exciting activity to do. One night we even pitched the tent in the kids room and let them have an indoor campout. They were also excited for their new light up clock we ordered on Amazon.

Slow rides around the neighborhood for fun
Monsoon rains are starting to come in
Even Madelyn got to go on a slow ride around the block
Father's Day fun - Madelyn made Luke this handprint gift (with Mommy's help)
Ezra wanted to build something so Luke went to the market and got some wood. They built then painted a simple desk and chair.
Madelyn is always happy in the water.
Ezra doing an experiment for school on soluble materials.
We started to make our own pizzas every weekend. The restaurants were still not open and the kids really wanted pizza. I got a recipe for pizza bread online and it became a fun weekend activity.
We went off one day into the hills in search of some beautiful nature and adventure. We found a big lake, a lot of animals and had a lot of fun.
